More Carthage sights

For a small city we have not run out of things to do. Of course the obligatory ssssshopping thingy brought Miss Susy some enjoyment. Loved the courthouse downtown. Felt like we were entering Disyney Land.

Red Oak Park - Carthage, Mo

Found a park that is under construction and is totally free to visit.

It was one of the best things we did while in Carthage. Don't know if this little airplane was real...... but I bet it was real scary to fly in.

1st leg of our trip - Carthage Mo Oct 9th 2010

Crueling 150 miles today!! Weather was sunny and a mild 80 degrees. We stopped in Carthage Mo, at the Big Red Barn RV park for a couple of days. Its a Good Sam's park that offers PA discounts. Whopping $15 a day for full hookups. It has been crowded with a motor coach rally going on in the park. Max is almost hoarse from greeting all the other pets in the park. We were put next to the 2 park hosts and have visited about traveling adventures and work camping sagas. Even met Eric who camp hosts at the Longview RV park in Kansas City. A very nice RV park with the best public golf course in KC right next door.

Carthage is a very nice and very clean town of about 14,000
There main claim to fame is the fine Carthage Marble that is mined nearby

Before going sightseeing we stopped for a bite to eat at Iggy's Diner. Wow would not want to clean this place. The inside and out is all chrome. They keep it really polished. So if ya need a job Big Greg........ here's a possibility for ya lol.

More tomorrow since it takes for.......eva...... to upload on this connection.

Time Has Finally Arrived !!

How time flies......Not really!?

Wow, Its October and time to get ready for the Hitchiker International Rally in Conroe Texas.
Really Looking forward to seeing lots of our HH friends. Especially Greg and Judy , Bill & Judye , Ron and Lois and of course Dave and Trish.

Its been a year since the Duquoin Rally and we have hitch itch really bad. Only 5 more working man blues days left. We have been busy sprucing up the 5er in and out. Miss Susy is in the spirit and has done all the cleaning inside and has been helping me wash n shine the outside. We have our new H rated tires on the RV and brand spanking new tires on the Truck.

Look out world cause the Haulin' Hitchikers are beating feet to meet and have a good time.
